Program with QMK & VIA.

QMK/VIA means endless possibilities for a fluid workflow. Thanks to our engineering team, it's the first time in history that a wireless mechanical keyboard has these kinds of capabilities right out of the box.

Simply connect the K5 Pro to your device with a cable, drag and drop your favorite keys or macro commands to remap any key you want on any system (macOS, Windows, or Linux).

Check out the video above demonstrating how to remap the F16 key (located on the K5 Pro’s top right corner) to an Eject key with the VIA software, so you can get a shortcut to put your Mac to sleep (Command-Option-Eject), or even remap the fn key in a breeze. It’s never been so intuitive and flexible to personalize your own keymap.

An ultra-low-power ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit STM32L432 MCU which is powerful, and equipped with 128K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers.

Get the keymap working on VIA

Since the VIA code for the K5 Pro is still awaiting approval from Github, it is not yet automatically recognized, so you will need to manually download and import the K5 Pro keymap.

Please download the keymap JSON file below. Connect your keyboard and device with the provided cable, and toggle the switch to cable mode. Open VIA, click on the "Show Design tab" on the "Settings" tab, and drag the JSON file into the “Design” tab on VIA to get the K5 Pro keymap working on VIA.

I am happy with it

I have the K5 Pro RGB with brown switches. It is a pleasure to use, the switches are precise and responsive, and this keyboard has become my daily driver both in the office and at home. The spacebar is the least wobbly and rattly I've ever seen on a keyboard, including the Apple Magic Keyboard. It's easy to switch between paired devices and I use it with both Windows and Mac.

Initially I thought the non-translucent keycaps would annoy me as I am used to the backlight shining through, but it's nowhere near as bad as I thought.

The main negative for me is the battery. If you're used to a Magic Keyboard, the battery life of this keyboard is disappointing. And I would really like if the keyboard could report the battery level to the operating system via Bluetooth, as the built-in battery indicator is a mere crutch. There is no warning for low battery level and it has happened to me that the keyboard ran out of battery in the middle of work.

Better than I expected, and I expected a lot!

I bought the K5 Pro in white with red switches.
There were not many keyboards that fit what I wanted on the market, but this one absolutely nailed it.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

My needs were as follows:
- Full size. I work in IT and work remote, I spend a lot of time typing in IP addresses so numpad was needed.
- Media controls. I listen to music for at least 5 hours a day and the media buttons are so much easier.
- Nice to type on. I also do a lot of documentation writing so nice to type with mech keys was a must.
- Backlit because pretty colours
- Low profile. I have a joint disability so this low profile keyboard really really helps with my joint pain!
- Mac to Linux/Windows toggle switch! This is AMAZING. I work on a Macbook pro but my personal PC is Fedora. Having a simple switch to change the keyboard layout is so so handy.

Things I really like:
- Looks great
- Sound pretty good - if you are a key smasher it might not be as thoccy as a full size mech switch, but it's close enough for me.
- Braided cable is nice
- The screen cap button works so well, on Linux it brings up the screen cap tool, on Mac is performs the CMD + Shift + 4 short cut for selecting an area which is use multiple times a day.
- It's a pure white, not an off white which I like much more.
- Even though its slim and low it still has two step adjustable bottom feet.

Things I am indifferent about:
- The green light at the back is always on if you leave it plugged in to tell you the battery is charged. It should probably have a timer if it's not charging?
- Space bar is a little wobbly but i've seen way worse

Things I don't like:
- Num lock defaults to off. Which means when I turn it on it changes that keys LED to a greeny blue colour. Caps lock has a dedicated light right next to escape, I wish num lock had the same.
- Documentation sucks ass. Seriously. It was so hard to work out how to just change a static colour with the keyboard and not use software (i cant because work laptop). Please improve the documentation to include ALL of the shortcuts for changing colours.
- I cant work out how to get pure white back light without using software.

I already had a K5 Pro and loved it so much I bought another one to use with my work computer. Great to type on, solid build quality and super customisable. I went with the brown 'tactile' switches as they're the perfect middle ground between dull linears and annoying clickys

This is my first mechanical keyboard and I love it. Has made typing a lot easier and better. Also love the clicky sound it makes even though it has tactile switches.
